A Senior Fellow has held the doctoral degree for five or more years at the time of application. Senior fellows are part of the NPP program and sponsored through ORAU. If the Fellow has an appointment as a Senior Fellow, the NPP Advisor functions in a collegial relationship and assists with securing space, equipment, or technical and clerical support.
Senior Fellow Stipends
The stipend amount for Senior Fellows is based on the location of the appointment, degree specialty, number of years after receipt of the doctoral degree, and the total score obtained on the NPP application.
Senior Fellow Travel
Senior Fellows on sabbatical may qualify for a limited outbound relocation allowance, but eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. If a Senior Fellow qualifies for outbound relocation expenses, he or she will be reimbursed up to the balance of funds that remains after the inbound moving expenses have been deducted.
ORAU staff will provide additional information regarding allowable costs for Senior Fellows who qualify for outbound relocation expenses. Fellows should contact ORAU before any relocation plans are made.
